I waited for the wind to fill in then joined Mike, Dunk and larry who were
all out kitesurfing. I was nicely powered with my 5.7m and the wind was
actually gusting to around 38 knots at times so I did come in and flatten
it off a bit at one point. I then sailed across the dovey bar, on to
Graveyards and then just kept going on a coastal crusie all the way to
Tywyn. Turned around and sailed back and once I got to Ynyslas decided I
may as well continue on to Borth, but not long after I was unceremoniously
dumped into the water after my boom snapped.
Grrrr. And I thought the continuous front end on this boom was meant to be
stronger and more durable than others booms I\'ve snapped in the past.
Obviously not as it was only 3 months old and was on its 25th outing.
Thankfully I was able to just about water start using the other side of the
boom and sail back to shore without even having to walk up the beach.
Yet another warranty claim! Other than that it was a good session, well
powered coastal cruising in the sunshine cut short by equipment failure.
I\'m just glad it didn\'t snap when I was 4 miles from home at Tywyn
